2014 Obsession Symphony
92% Symphony, 8% Muscat Canelli
The Kautz Family has the most significant plantings of the Symphony varietal in the Lodi and Sierra Foothills AVAs. Created at the University of California Davis in 1948, by Dr. Harold Olmo, Symphony is a cross between Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris that thrives in the mineral-rich soils of these two distinct regions.
Ironstone’s Obsession is a seductively aromatic wine with captivating aromas of gardenia, honeysuckle and star jasmine. Flavors of this extremely enjoyable wine are tropical with peaches, pineapple and a hint of ginger, finishing off crisp and clean.
Food Pairing Notes
Obsession Symphony is an ideal complement to many types of cuisine, especially ones that are on the spicy side. Obsession is exceptional with Pad Thai or other Thai dishes. The hot curry found in Indian cuisine is cooled by Obsession’s fresh fruit flavors. It’s also a great choice with grilled fruits.
