The gardens, at Ironstone, play host to a multitude of public and private events year round. These include concerts, weddings, picnics, barbeques and games, and the spectacular Concours d'Elegance classic car show that's held every September. Throughout the 14 acres, you'll find thousands of plant varieties and species as well as antique winemaking, mining and railroad equipment.
The annual "color parade" kicks off in March with an explosive burst of over 300,000 daffodils that signal the coming of Spring and herald our annual festival of food, wine, art and Daffodils. Tulips, Camellias, Dutch Iris, Rhododendrons and Azaleas follow. As the summer months fade to the hustle and bustle of harvest, the grounds come alive with rich hues of crimson red, bright orange and ochre when leaves put on their annual show of Fall colors. Even during winter one can find splashes of color amidst the lush evergreens and occasional light dusting of snow.
On weekends when the weather is nice be sure to visit with Mario, the miner, who will teach you to pan for gold in our very own sluice. When you come through the entrance and head up the hill towards the Tasting Room parking lot, you'll find him to the left near the miners' shack and waterwheel.
